Meet Our Pastor

Our pastor is Rev. Greg Jewison. Greg worked without a salary for over two years, so that his vision of a new church in the De Pere area could be made real. Greg lives in De Pere. He and his wife are active volunteers in the Green Bay and De Pere community.
Pastor Greg Jewison

Greg is 48. In his twenty-five years of ministry, he served five congregations before launching New Hope Church. In 1985, at the age of 24, he was named Minister of Administration of the seventh largest church in our denomination, the 8,000-member Boston Avenue Church of Tulsa, Oklahoma. In the succeeding years, he also provided leadership to two other growing urban congregations in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.

He was recruited to transfer to Wisconsin, where he has served as Senior Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in Beaver Dam northeast of Madison, and then at First United Methodist Church of Green Bay.

Pastor Greg considers his primary gifts to be preaching, teaching, evangelism, and leadership. Here are some highlights from his ministry to date:

Every church he has served has grown.
He started an additional Sunday morning worship service at five churches.
Television and radio ministries have been major outreaches in three of his churches. He coordinated one congregation's telecast of its Christmas Eve worship service, which was broadcast nationwide on ABC television.
Outreach to impoverished persons and urban neighborhoods has been a focus at each church, through ministries including free medical clinics (at three churches), Meals-on-Wheels, tutoring programs, parenting programs, a summer-long children's day camp (so parents can work), and more.
He has led his churches in developing a more intentional lay ministry system, which focuses on identifying gifts and talents, and then plugging persons into fulfilling volunteer ministries.
Greg graduated cum laude from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1983, with a degree in Finance and Insurance. He also graduated from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University on a merit scholarship, and was awarded the school's highest honor in the study of New Testament Greek.

Greg is a native of Illinois, but he has been a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan! His wife, Kerry, is a native of Arkansas, and is a pharmacist. They have one child, who attends school in De Pere.
